The growing popularity of Naseby's annual 12-Hour Challenge mountain bike event may see changes made for next year's race.
A record 790 competitors contested the sixth running of the event last Saturday.
Mountain Biking Otago, which organises the event, had a further 100 team competitors on a waiting list after the event was fully booked within a week of entries opening in February.
Race director Craig Bates, of Dunedin, said the event continued to grow in popularity, particularly among families.
Next year, a corporate section may be added.
Numbers were capped at 790 last weekend for logistical reasons.
Last year, 686 riders took part.
Competitors ranged from pre-teens to those in their 60s, and came from throughout the South Island.
Queenstown rider Mark Williams won the individual open men's category, completing 24 laps of the 10km course from 9am to 9pm.
Denise Thorne, of Alexandra, won the women's section with 19 laps, while Invercargill open men's team CSI did 27 laps to complete the most overall laps.
In the open mixed single-speed section, Dunedin cyclist Tristan Rawlence had the most laps at 22.
The fastest lap was by Ryan Cull, of Invercargill, who cycled the course in 24min 08sec. .
