Two youths have been arrested in relation to a series of incidents over the past week in which at least 10 cars have been stolen and then dumped.
The 15-year-old and 16-year-old were arrested in Dunedin on Monday.
They have so far been charged with two counts of unlawfully taking a motor vehicle, but more charges were expected to be laid, Constable Ian Paulin said.
The youths were granted police bail and are to appear in the Dunedin Youth Court on Friday.
