Alexandra police are likely to arrest others in relation to a group brawl in the town on Thursday night, after two women and a man were arrested and charged yesterday.
Acting Sergeant Fred Aplin said a fight between Central Otago residents turned into a group disorder outside the Stadium Tavern in Alexandra about midnight.
Although the group dispersed when police arrived, inquiries yesterday led to the arrest of three people, he said.
"We are going to pursue offenders, even after the event, to enure they're brought to justice. Just because people made it home does not mean they'll get off. We'll find them and put them before the court," Sgt Aplin said.
Two women have been charged with disorderly behaviour likely to cause violence, and one man has been charged with fighting in public.
All three are due to appear at a registrar's hearing in the Alexandra District Court on Tuesday.
