Informal searches for a 16-year-old Dunedin teenager presumed to have drowned in the Clutha River, near Roxburgh, three weeks ago have found nothing.
Senior Sergeant Mike Cook, of Alexandra, said the boy's family had conducted informal searches for the missing teenager since police suspended their search on November 18.
Police had also received phone calls about possible information relating to the boy's disappearance on November 11, although in following inquiries officers found nothing to warrant a further search.
Snr Sgt Cook said police still wanted to hear from anyone who knew anything about the incident.
"We want river users to be mindful of it, and to alert police if there's anything suspicious or which doesn't seem right at any particular area of the river," he said.
A rahui was placed on part of the river by local police, iwi, and the boy's family, when the police suspended their search and will remain in place until the moon cycle changes on December 19The teenager's name continues to be suppressed by police at the family's request.
