Two surfers pulled a pair of struggling swimmers from a rip in the St Kilda surf.

Police were called to St Kilda beach at 7.20pm yesterday after two swimmers got into trouble in a rip.

Two men were seen struggling to get back into shore and police were called, along with Surf Life Saving NZ and Hato Hone St John.
