The Dunedin Gasworks Museum will co-ordinate another community repair event as part of the South Dunedin Street Festival on Saturday.
Located in the South Dunedin Community Network rooms at 278a King Edward St, the Festival Repair Station will be a haven for anyone struggling with glitchy computers, dodgy phones, ripped clothes, wonky bikes, and damaged small appliances. The event will run from 10am-3pm.
Dunedin Gasworks Museum Trust chairman Jonathan Cweorth said "we all know how frustrating it is to have an item with a small, fixable problem, yet nowhere to take it to".
"Instead of throwing these items away, customers can visit our repair station for a consultation with experienced repairers."
Consultations are free, although koha is appreciated.
Mr Cweorth said Saturday’s repair partners would include Stitch Kitchen, Com2Tech, Southern Youth Development, and ReGear.
"We’ll also be hosting a free shop managed by the team from Synergy Wellness, and a community sewing project run by Sew On Period Care, so there’s plenty for customers to do while they wait for their repair, and of course, the festival will be in full swing just outside," he said.
