More crews qualified for the A finals of the national secondary school competition starting today and finishing tomorrow at Lake Ruataniwha.
Matthew O’Meara (John McGlashan) and Toby Tregida (Wakatipu) will race in the boys under-18 single sculls, and O’Meara will also join Angus Loe in the boys under-18 double sculls. Xavier Small and Ashton White will represent Wakatipu in the latter race.
Annie Wells and Annika Massey (Mount Aspiring) have booked a spot in the girls under-18 double sculls and will then join Lola Ritchie, Sienna Marsden and Caroline Smith in the girls under-18 coxed quad sculls.
Tahlia Nelson and Emer Bryant will represent Dunstan in the girls under-17 double sculls and St Kevin’s rower Kouper Lynch will compete in the boys under-16 single sculls.
Lynch will join Kobe Narruhn in the boys under-16 double sculls, as will Max Smith and Christopher McIntosh (Dunstan) and Charlie Manser and Max Davis (Wakatipu).
Sasha Key and Amy Paterson (Wakatipu), Bella Breen and Ruby Smith (Dunstan) and Matilda Sutton and Fenella Millen (Columba) will race in the girls under-16 double sculls.
Breen, Smith, Poppy Tuffin, Phoebe Harrex and Lily Kain (Dunstan) will compete in the girls under-16 coxed quad sculls, alongside Wakatipu (Sasha Key, Amy Paterson, Lucy Clark, Zara Small, Jessie Glover), Columba (Nova Whiston, Anika Leyser, Isla Nicholson, Georgia Drummond, Isabella Davey) and Mount Aspiring (Lucy Radford, Sienna Marsden, Meg Ritchie, Carry David and Emily Hunt).
Whiston, Leyser, Nicholson, Drummond and Kate Baskerville will also row for Columba in the girls under-16 coxed four.
