You'd have baulked at paying $1million for a section a while back, but at the golf course-surrounded Jack’s Point subdivision, it’s par for the course.

The 12 Jack’s sections currently for sale range from $850,000 to $1.25million.

"I think the last few sales have been for Cunninghams Dr, which sort of looks over Hanley’s Farm, and they were around that mid-800s, late-800s — that’s entry-level", local Colliers sales consultant Richie Heap says.

Ten of the 12 sections are one-house lots, but 25 Rannoch Dr, which Heap’s listed for $1,049,000, and 29 McAdam Dr, which Ray White’s Pieter Werbrouck’s listed for $1,195,000, allow a second dwelling on them.

Heap: "I sold a client a section for $320,000 back in 2016/17, which I’m about to resell, and that will go for around $1m.

"We’ll take buyers in there and they’ll either say ‘turn around’ at the gate, because they don’t like how the houses look the same, and various things like that, or people will love it and say, ‘take me further’ — because of the residents’ association [rules], it’s all clean and tidy and looked after.

"We do sell a lot to Aucklanders, especially after Covid — they love Jack’s Point."

Referring to Arrowtown’s high-end Millbrook Resort, Heap adds: "Jack’s Point is definitely on its way to being a mini-Millbrook very quickly."
