Why do some outfits look great on us but others look simply dreadful? Two reasons: body shape and colour, writes Sun Dean.
Many of us feel more confident about some parts of our bodies than others. An ill-fitting outfit can dramatize certain parts of your body you may not feel totally comfortable with or it can make you look stunning by enhancing your greatest assets. Likewise, choosing the wrong colour can ruin a look.
The problem is many of us don't know how to select outfits that work with our unique style. Here are three simple style tips to ensure you purchase outfits that look stunning on you every time.
Fashion Mistake 1: Not understanding your body shape
Do you know what shape you are? If you don't you may be wearing outfits that emphasise aspects of your body you'd rather minimise.
There are six basic body shapes:
1. Pear
2. Strawberry
3. Hour Glass
4. Column
5. Rectangle
6. Apple
Most of us are combinations of these so take a look at yourself to work out where you fit. If you need help finding or want some ideas on what will work best for your shape visit our website.
Fashion Mistake 2: Wearing too much black
Take a look around town. Everyone is wearing black, why?
Because black is seen as "safe". But black can be difficult for many of us and choosing this instead of more flattering colours can make us appear older. It is also harder to stand out or have impact when you're wearing the same colour as everyone else.
We understand that many women aren't experts on how to pick colours that complement their skin tone. But when you have a style session at Refined Rig you'll learn what works well for you so you can confidently start adding colour to your wardrobe.

Fashion Mistake 3: Collecting clothes instead of collecting outfits
Do you have plenty of clothes in your wardrobe but nothing to wear? Chances are that's because you buy individual items on impulse rather than those that fit in with your outfit plan.
Instead of shopping for items of clothing, start shopping for outfits. Outfits that follow your body shape and colour will take your style to a whole other level and your confidence will soar.
