Well, except for that time the training nets blew over.
The Sparks were coming towards the end of a training session at Logan Park on Monday when the wind suddenly gathered intensity.
The decision was made to finish a little bit early and move the nets out of the way.
And, well, oops.
Otago Cricket Association chief executive Mike Coggan said two of the three portable nets used by the association were damaged in the high winds.
"Once we realised the wind was getting too strong, the ground staff came in and put the nets back, but there was just one big gust which ended up crippling one of them," Coggan said.
A second portable net suffered some more minor damage and is potentially still usable until it can be fixed.
The portable nets are owned by the Dunedin City Council and are valued at about $18,000 each.
"The third one is completely wrecked and will have to be fixed through the purchase of the various parts.
"The good thing is they come in parts and are all fixable. We’ve just got to be able to do that so it has minimal impact on the Sparks and the Volts."
As luck would have it, neither side is scheduled to play a game in Dunedin until January 23, so there is breathing space in terms of getting the repairs done.
