The New Zealand University eight lead the Australians on Lake Hayes on Saturday. The NZ eight won the race and series.

The best of conditions prevailed for the final day of the Transtasman University rowing test series at Lake Hayes on Saturdayand New Zealand teams capitalised on their home advantage.

The New Zealand women's eight won by a near 10-second advantage and the women's lightweight team by a huge margin of 24 seconds.

In the men's eight, New Zealand finished comfortably clear of Australia, winning by 10 seconds.

The Australians took one positive from the day when they won the men's lightweight quad, the first race of theday.

Otago University had strong representation in all four categories.

Former Wakatipu Rowing Club members Sarah Linley (22) and James Harvey (21) returned home to competein their respective categories.
