Queenstown arrests for disorder, alcohol-related offences

A 25-year-old Queenstown man was arrested for alleged disorderly behaviour outside the World Bar on Wednesday at 12.15am.

The man was refused entry into a bar because of his level of intoxication and became abusive and aggressive and pushed door staff, Sergeant Blair Duffy, of Queenstown, said.

• A 19-year-old Queenstown man was charged with driving with a breath-alcohol level of 400mcg on Gorge Rd on Wednesday at 4am. The legal drink-drive limit for drivers under the age of 20 years was lowered from 0.03 blood alcohol concentration to zero last year.

• A 22-year-old Dunedin student was arrested for alleged drink-driving at 3.15am yesterday after being stopped in Rees St.

• Sgt Duffy said the man had a breath-alcohol level of 978mcg and would appear in the Queenstown District Court on Monday.

• Police were also investigating the theft of diesel from a digger at Mt Creighton on Thursday or Friday, with reports the digger had also been tagged.
