Steel upset unbeaten Pulse

The Southern Steel has claimed a huge win in Invercargill tonight.

It rode a huge performance to upset the previously unbeaten Central Pulse 62-52.

After a tight first quarter, it opened a gap after key intercepts to Te Huinga Reo Selby-Rickit and Kate Heffernan in the second quarter.

That took it to a 32-27 halftime lead, once which it extended to 11 goals in the third quarter.

While the Pulse fought back in the final quarter, the Steel remained in control to take the win.
