Two Brazilian males were arrested after they were allegedly found smoking cannabis in a room at a local backpackers. Constable Hugh O'Reilly, of Queenstown, said he was unsure whether the people were tourists or residents.
- 11pm:
A male was arrested after allegedly "wandering into a house on Hallenstein St". The occupiers of the house, a married couple, were asleep when the unknown male walked in "thinking he lived there". "He was very intoxicated and when we turned up he wasn't able to tell us where he did live, so he got himself locked up and spent the night [at the police station]," Const O'Reilly said. The man was charged with being unlawfully on property.
