A 25-year-old Arrowtown man suffered a head injury in one of three separate car crashes on Friday night and Saturday morning.
The man, suffering from head trauma, was taken to Dunedin Hospital after the Suzuki 4WD vehicle in which he was the sole occupant crashed at the entrance to the Gorge Rd Retail Centre, on Saturday, at 3.35am.
No other vehicles were involved.
• Police returned to a nearby area a few hours later when a Nissan crashed into the swamp off Gorge Rd, at 8am on Saturday.
Two Christchurch men were processed for drink-driving. A 19-year-old man allegedly registered a breath-alcohol reading of 750mcg and a 20-year-old man allegedly registered a breath-alcohol reading of 766mcg.
The men were uninjured.
No other vehicles were involved.
• A sober 32-year-old Queenstown man was uninjured when he failed to negotiate a moderate left-hand corner. His Toyota had spun and tipped on to its side.
The man had been driving towards Cromwell, on the Kawarau Gorge Rd, about 500m west of Roaring Meg, on Saturday, at 9.05am.
Sergeant Brian Cameron, of Queenstown, said the Cromwell-bound lane was closed for about 90 minutes while the vehicle was recovered.
No other vehicles were involved.
• An 18-year-old Cromwell man, an 18-year-old Mosgiel man and another 19-year-old man were all intoxicated and arrested for fighting outside the Night'n Day premises, on Saturday, at 2.50am, police said. Part of the incident had been witnessed by a community guide.
• Two men wearing black hooded tops were seen damaging letterboxes and a bus stop on Fernhill Rd and Arawata Tce, on Friday night, about 1.30am, police said. Sgt Cameron encouraged affected residents to report any damage to the police.
• A 33-year-old Queenstown woman was arrested for causing a disturbance in the Boiler Room bar, on Saturday, at 3.20am, police said.
• A 20-year-old American man, residing in Arrowtown, was arrested, on Saturday, at 1.25am, police said, in connection with the theft of an outboard motor in March.
