The Queenstown Lakes District Council harbourmaster's office was busy yesterday fishing two swamped vehicles - a jet-boat and a 4WD - from waterways around Lake Wakatipu.
Council harbourmaster Marty Black said the jet-boat - owned by an Omarama couple - was airlifted by helicopter from Beans Burn, a stream which runs into the Dart River near Glenorchy.
Mr Black was unsure of the specific circumstances of the Monday afternoon sinking but said the couple were unharmed.
The second salvage incident involved a 4WD swamped in the Arrow River, about 5km upstream from Arrowtown, on Monday night.
Sergeant Mark Gill, of Queenstown, said three French men were found on top of the 4WD.
Mr Black said the vehicle was towed from the river with the assistance of the tourists.
