A Rotorua mother accused of killing her baby has been remanded on bail to reappear next month.
Ngaire Kura Tukiwaho, 30, appeared in Rotorua District Court today for a callover in relation to the manslaughter of her baby.
It is alleged she killed her baby by not providing him with a safe sleeping environment between January 4 and January 5 last year.
Tukiwaho's charge sheet states she "without lawful excuse, neglected her legal duty to supply a safe sleeping environment with the necessaries of life, whereby the death of [the child] was caused and thereby committed manslaughter''.
She did not enter a plea.
