A 63-year-old man is dead and a woman seriously injured in a road crash in Taranaki this afternoon.
The incident happened on State Highway 45, north of Opunake around 3.40pm.
Police said the Toyota people mover was travelling south when it lost control on a moderate right-hand bend.
It crossed the road, rolling over and hit a fence.
The driver died at the scene. The female passenger, believed to be in her 80s, has been taken to Taranaki Hospital with serious injuries.
The serious crash unit is investigating.
