A helicopter is joining in the police search for a missing South Korean tourist whose car was found in Franz Josef Glacier carpark.
A rental car traced back to Ergine Cho, 31, has not moved from the Franz Josef Glacier carpark since Thursday, Constable Paul Gurney said.
The car was parked in the main carpark with foot access to the glacier valley and a number of bush walks.
A helicopter was to be flown into the area this afternoon to see if he could be spotted from the air, police said.
Mr Cho had been in New Zealand for two weeks and police are asking anyone with information to contact them.
