An elderly man has died after his mobility scooter collided with a car in Kaiapoi, North Canterbury, this evening.
Police said the crash occurred in Ohoka Road about 5pm.
Emergency services rushed to the scene and the elderly man was transported to Christchurch hospital where he died as a result of his injuries.
The road was closed while Kaiapoi police and the Serious Crash Unit started investigating the cause of the crash.
