Woman arrested over stabbing in city

A woman has been arrested following a stabbing outside a Dunedin home early yesterday.

Police were called to the Wakari Rd home at 1.30am, following reports of an altercation between six people.

A 25-year-old man was taken to Dunedin Hospital with a stab wound.

His injury was considered to be serious, but not life threatening, Detective Sergeant Rob Hanna said.

He said a 32-year-old woman was arrested and charged with wounding with intent to cause grievous bodily harm.

She is expected to appear in Dunedin District Court today.
