Senior Sergeant Darryl Lennane, of Southern District Command Centre, said a man was found by colleagues about 6am trapped under the door of a horse truck.
He was taken to Dunedin Hospital by ambulance and his condition was understood to be life-threatening, Snr Sgt Lennane said.
