Weather camera delayed

The debut of Dunedin's new live weather camera has been delayed, following a technical "glitch" during its installation, the Dunedin City Council says.

The high-definition camera was installed atop of Radio Otago House by Television New Zealand technicians on September 24, but is yet to begin beaming views of the Dunedin Railway Station to viewers across New Zealand.

Council communications co-ordinator Rodney Bryant said that was because of a "glitch" during installation.

It was not yet clear when the camera would be operational.

It cost $10,500 to install, paid for from the council's city promotion budget, and was owned by the council but maintained by TVNZ.
