Dart Engineering’s Mike Boereboom finishes a repair job to the statue of Peter Pan and Tinkerbell in the Dunedin Botanic Garden recently. A scheduled maintenance inspection by Origin Heritage found an alarming crack where Tinkerbell sat on Peter’s shoulder.

The repair (above) required a delicate bronze weld to secure the troublesome fairy.

The statue was donated by Harold Richmond, of Green Island, and crafted by English sculptor Cecil Thomas. It was installed in 1963.
