'Threatening' incident in St Clair

Dunedin police are investigating an incident in St Clair in which three men - one of them holding a metal bar - were seen threatening residents of a house.

A police spokesman said officers were called to a property in Lock St at 11.58am yesterday after three men, all thought to be in their 40s, were seen acting in a threatening manner.

One was holding an aluminium bar, the spokesman confirmed.

Initial reports said the men were members of a motorcycle gang but the spokesman was unable to confirm that.

A police investigation into the incident was continuing, he said.
