Seven jobs will be lost when Sky TV closes its Dunedin branch in April.
The centralisation of accounting services elsewhere means branches in Nelson and Whangarei were also being closed.
The total number of job losses across the three branches is yet to be finalised.
Sky communications director Kirsty Way confirmed the April closure of its Portsmouth Dr office in Dunedin would result in the loss of seven jobs. An unspecified number would be retained and others may be relocated.
"With technology advancements we are able to centralise some roles and it makes economic sense to now close this branch," Ms Way said.
Sky’s technical staff in Dunedin were remaining.
Ms Way said given the "extremely competitive environment" Sky TV operated in, it was compelled to consider all its expenditure to deliver best value to customers. The numbers of jobs to go in Nelson or Whangarei had not been finalised.
