Six people were taken to Dunedin Hospital after their car crashed on Signal Hill Rd, in Dunedin today.
Initial inquiries suggest the car, a Nissan sedan, was travelling down Signal Hill Rd when it clipped a parked car about 4pm, police said.
The car then veered across the road and mounted the footpath where it continued down the hill and passed between a power pole and fence, clipping the pole before travelling a further 10m before stopping.
The driver and five passengers were taken to Dunedin Public hospital for checks. One person sustained moderate to serious injuries.
A St John spokesman was earlier reported as saying the other people sustained minor injuries.
Any witnesses are asked to contact police.
