Taking part in the national song open class of the Dunedin Performing Arts Competitions Society Senior Vocal Festival at Burns Hall yesterday are (clockwise from below left): Morgan-Andrew King, Christina Ellison, adjudicator Patrick Power, David Moseley, Steven Moseley and Maeve Herd.
Mr Power said he was delighted with the quality of singing in the classes so far and the competition was close.
The singers are among more than 30 taking part in the competitions, which started yesterday and culminate in the ODT Southern Aria finals on Saturday night at the Glenroy Auditorium.
"There’s some very impressive singing, some enormous promise, and shots being fired across the bow."
