Serving up success

The best table tennis players, young and old, from around the region and beyond gathered at the Edgar Centre for the annual Otago Open on Saturday. 

Nearly 90 players took part.

Canterbury players John Cordue (men’s open singles) and 13-year-old Tracy Hsia (women’s open singles) claimed the major titles, and combined to win the open mixed doubles.

Cordue and Otago veteran Ben Duffy won the men’s doubles, and the southern pairing of Debs King-Newell and Gemma Buzzard won the women’s doubles.
