A spreading scrub fire near the camping ground at the northern end of Ocean View, south of Dunedin, caused some concern for firefighters before being brought under control late last night.
Fire and Emergency NZ was alerted shortly after 11pm and the fire was under control by about midnight.
The main road was closed for a short time.
