Year 13 pupils from Kaikorai Valley College received an introduction to paddleboarding on Otago Harbour yesterday as part of the school’s outdoor education programme.
Among the pupils taught basic safety skills, hazard identification and paddling techniques as well as how to recover from a fall were (from top) Carly Wishart, Cassidy Renton and Henry King.
Kaikorai Valley College head of outdoor education Craig Reddington said it was a great time out on the water.
"The students really enjoyed it and they stayed out a bit longer than we thought," he said.
"They had fun and it’s a big part of the course, having fun."
