A hundred properties in Andersons Bay, Dunedin, were without electricity between 11am and 1pm on Saturday while a fault was remedied, Aurora Energy head of external relations Gary Johnson said.
Some other customers were also briefly affected, for a couple of minutes, when a feeder had to be taken out during the repair work, Mr Johnson said.
A Fire and Emergency New Zealand spokesman said firefighters were called after a power pole came down, apparently in windy conditions, in Fitzroy St, Forbury, Dunedin, at 1.11pm on Saturday.
Firefighters attended and referred the matter to power authorities.
St Kilda firefighters also attended an incident at 3.01pm in which telephone lines were apparently blown down at the corner of Dundonald St and Norman St, Tainui. The matter was referred to power and telecommunications authorities, the spokesman said.
