Spring tides flooded the pool two days in a row, causing some worry about the start of the season tomorrow, three weeks earlier than the usual Labour Weekend opening.
Supervisor Gaye Brooks said the pool was in condition for opening on Tuesday, but the high tide and wind washed sand and seaweed into the pool and ripped a cover.
It took five hours to vacuum the pool and remove the seaweed.
Then it happened again on Wednesday night. The pool was cleaned out again and the heaters turned back on, and staff had their "fingers crossed" it would not happen again, she said.
"Regardless, we will open, but it might not be as warm."
The council had agreed to the early opening after a petition from the St Clair community.
