Police are warning City Rise residents to be vigilant after a spate of thefts in the area.
Items from cars at addresses in Stafford St and Maclaggan St had been taken in a series of crimes police believed were linked, Senior Sergeant Ben Butterfield said.
"We have had a wee spate of thefts from vehicles around the City Rise area," he said.
"There have been eight thefts ... over the last week, concentrated particularly around the Maclaggan St area.
"Clearly, somebody’s targeting that area.’’Police suspected the thefts were linked, but inquiries into the matter were ongoing.
"We are asking residents of that area to take all precautions they can so they don’t become victims," Snr Sgt Butterfield said.
"Lock all doors and secure their vehicles.
"We believe it’s happening overnight so anyone who sees anything suspicious during that period should report it to us immediately."
Anyone who had suspicions about the culprits should also contact police or provide the information anonymously through Crimestoppers, he said.
