Police are refusing to comment further on multiple arsons in Central Dunedin early on Wednesday.
It is understood police attended a fire-damaged property in London St yesterday, not far from where an armchair was discovered torched in Cargill St.
Police supplied a brief emailed statement in response to Otago Daily Times questions.
"Police are unable to comment on the matters that are before the court. However, no further charges are expected to be filed at this stage," it said.
Dunedin labourer Glen Michie (40) was arrested at the scene of a fire which gutted the street frontage of Di Lusso Bar in lower Stuart St just after 4am on Wednesday.
He was charged with three counts of arson related to the bar fire, the armchair fire and the attempted torching of a car in Cumberland St.
He was remanded in custody when he appeared in the Dunedin District Court on Wednesday afternoon.
Attempts to contact the Fire Service’s investigator and Di Lusso Bar’s owner yesterday were unsuccessful.
