Police are hoping to reunite a cyclist with their bike after locating it while arresting the alleged thieving youth for assault yesterday.
Senior Sergeant Anthony Bond, of Dunedin, said police were called to North Rd at 8.25am and arrested a young person.
During the course of the arrest, police located at the property a stolen bike the youth allegedly showed up with that morning.
Police believe the bike to be stolen from the North East Valley area and wish to identify the owner of the bike to return it.
The bike owner was asked to call 105, quoting file 230823/6500.
The youth has been charged with assault, wilful damage and theft.
