An elderly man is in a serious condition after his mobility scooter collided with a truck at the intersection of Gordon Rd and Bush Rd in Mosgiel this afternoon.
Traffic is now back to normal, but earlier there were diversions in place after the mobility scooter was left lying crushed underneath the light truck.
The crash occurred at 2.50pm.
Senior Sergeant Brian Benn, of Dunedin, said the 88-year-old man had been taken to Dunedin Hospital in a serious condition.
Meanwhile, one person is dead and five others injured after a two-vehicle crash on State Highway 1 near Waimate this afternoon.
