Mayor helps pupils test-drive scooter track

Dunedin Mayor Dave Cull leads Grant's Braes School pupils on a convoy yesterday after he officially opened a new 125m scooter track at the school.

Principal Chris McKinlay said the mayor and about 160 children navigated the all-weather track on scooters.

The track was created around the perimeter of a school sports field and included jumps and obstacles.

''The kids are loving it.''
