The event was a special one for Ford lovers, with a proud line-up of every one of the 21 Falcon models made over the years, to mark 50 years of the vehicle's manufacture.
For Brian Hurst, of Christchurch, the autospectacular was a chance to show off his 1960 XK Falcon, a car he had turned down a $25,000 offer to part with.
Despite his love of the vehicle he had "saved from the scrap heap" and rebuilt in 1994, he had brought the two-stage automatic Falcon to Dunedin on a trailer, as it was "horrible" to drive.
Autospectacular organiser Russell Gilchrist said it was a successful day.
An exhibition of the "jaws of life" used to cut people from vehicles after crashes, was particularly popular.
The show raised money for Drug Abuse Resistance Education (DARE).
The total will be known this week.
The people's choice award for best car went to Kerrie Martin for her XY Falcon GT replica, while the Otago Mini Owners Club won best club trophy.
