About $4000 worth of personal belongings, including an HP laptop, a Canon camera, a Navman and PlayStation 4, were stolen from a Dunedin house at the weekend.
An occupant of the Mailer St, Mornington, property arrived home about 2am yesterday to find a back door open and items missing.
Sergeant Steve Aitken, of Dunedin, said the intruders left through the back door, which the occupants had locked, but he did not know how entry was gained.
Other items stolen were clothing, including six hoodies, a Leatherman multi-tool, PlayStation controllers and games and a large purple suitcase.
The suitcase was probably taken to carry the stolen items, Sgt Aitken said.
• A gold Ford Laser, registration NL6997, was stolen from the Otago Road Services yard in Fairfield between October 9 and 18.
A Nissan Primera, also in the yard, was interfered with.
''Someone's had an attempt at one and then nicked the other one,'' Sgt Aitken said.
