Wenita Forest Products is planning another firewood sale after about 800 trucks, utes, and trailers failed to shift all the cut-price logs it offered for sale on Sunday.
The next sale at the Mt Allan plantation was likely some time next month, Wenita commercial manager Anne Horsewood said yesterday.
About 800 tonnes of wood, much of it from logs salvaged from the fire at the plantation in February, was sold on Sunday.
Some people queued more than an hour and a-half to get their share.
Mrs Horsewood said there was still "plenty" of wood for another sale - the stockpiles might have been weightier than the original 1000 tonnes estimate.
The proceeds from the sale had yet to be counted, but a "significant donation" would be made to the Otago Rescue Helicopter Trust.
