A Dunedin photographic exhibition which examines the funeral profession in Christchurch has been cancelled.
Caring for the Dead, by photographer Bridget Anderson, was scheduled to open for three weeks at the Otago Art Society's Art Station this week.
Anderson spent a year working with funeral company staff, the deceased and their families, capturing photographs at the mortuary, the graveside, in the chapel and at the family home after the funeral.
However, the exhibition was stored in Christchurch and could not be transported to Dunedin in time for the exhibition.
It was now hoped to hold the exhibition later in the year, art society administrator Nicole Hesson said this week.
