Low cloud and fog in Wellington have resulted in the cancellation of several flights, including one to Dunedin on Wednesday night.
Air New Zealand flight NZ 691 was scheduled to depart at 7.15pm and arrive in Dunedin at 8.30pm, but has been cancelled, stranding passengers in the capital.
Other cancelled flights include NZ 452 from Wellington to Auckland.
Some international flights have been delayed for several hours.
Passengers should check with their airline for more details.
MetService says low cloud was also forecast for Wellington on Thursday morning, while Dunedin could get morning cloud or fog before becoming fine.
