Police were kept busy in Dunedin on Saturday night with several incidents involving intoxicated youths.
In one incident a ''heavily intoxicated'' 20-year-old broke into a randomly chosen flat about 3.40am on Sunday, Senior Sergeant Bruce Ross said.
The man smashed two windows and two doors, before removing his clothes and falling asleep on a couch.
He was woken by police and had been charged with wilful damage, Snr Sgt Ross said.
Earlier, two Dunedin men were arrested after jumping on to a moving fire engine in George St about 1.30am, Snr Sgt Ross said.
The men, aged 20 and 21, were arrested and charged with disorderly behaviour.
Police were investigating an incident in North Rd in which five glass bottles were thrown by members of a large group of people on their way home from a party in Baldwin St.
Windows of a flat were smashed.
An 18-year-old student was arrested after a beer bottle was smashed in the middle of Great King St and another young man was taken to hospital after he put his arm through a window pane in North Rd, Snr Sgt Ross said.
Police were examining CCTV footage after a man punched a wall inside a restaurant at 12.45am on Sunday.
