Anthony Sue (17), of Horowhenua College, enjoys a meal while blindfolded at St Hilda's Collegiate School's Tolcarne boarding residence last night.

He was one of 80 year 13 pupils from throughout New Zealand to tuck into a meal while blindfolded as part of a event by the Otago University Advanced Schools Science Academy and the New Zealand International Science Festival.

Guest speaker Terry Bartlett, of Dunedin, who was born blind, said the event was an opportunity for pupils to ask questions about what it meant to be blind and have a chance to experience it themselves.
