Class member Frances Denz, of Tauranga, said it was the third time the women had met since they left high school.
Now aged between 67 and 69, the group was tight-knit because, as girls, they had done everything together, from school work to socialising to attending church.
Ms Denz said she was "stunned" how fit and healthy everyone still looked. Only two members of the class had died since they were at school, and most were still in the workforce, she said.
Sixteen of the group, pictured outside Otago Girls' High School, are (from left) Eleanor Flynn (nee Mason), Gaynor Maitland (nee Sebelin), Sue Arthur (nee Hunter), Marilyn Frew, Frances Denz, Christine Rose (nee Fulton), Shona Gasteen (nee McLean), Louise de Lambert, Liz McLean (nee Brown), Hilary Harbour, Dorothy Walker (nee Harley), Cushla Jamieson (nee Kain), Jeanine Benson (nee Oates), Bernice Baker (nee Ross), Sharon Lobb (nee Breen) and Elaine Warburton (nee Broadfoot).
