Otago Girls' High School pupils Sophie Kean (year 12) and Nina King (year 13) were runners-up in the Otago Future Historians Award in their respective year levels.
Nina also claimed second overall in the local history category.
Sophie's research project looked at the History of the Temperance Movement, focusing on the causes and consequences of the movement during the 19th century.
Nina's research project looked in detail into the Otago Suffrage Movement, with a particular focus on the contributions made by individuals including ex-pupil Anna Stout (nee Logan).
