Fire and Emergency New Zealand spokesman Andrew Norris said a St Kilda crew was called to the Smaills Beach car park at 1.23am yesterday, where two light trucks were ``fully involved'' in a fire.
An informant said no-one else was around at the time of the fire, he said.
The firefighters extinguished the flames in about 15 minutes.
A police spokeswoman said the vehicles were stolen from a ``building yard'' in Green Island.
Police were investigating.
The owner of the vehicles declined to comment yesterday.
