Intruder confronted in flat after cutting power

A man was caught intruding at a Dunedin flat after he turned off the power at the mains.

Senior Sergeant Craig Dinnissen, of Dunedin, said the intruder turned off power to the Leith St flat at the fuse box in the hallway at about 11pm on Wednesday night.

An occupant of the flat confronted the intruder in the kitchen, causing him to run out the back door.

The intruder was described as a male of unknown ethnicity wearing a dark coloured hoody, cap and pants, he said.
