An alleged drink-driver crashed his car into a wall this morning before fleeing the scene on foot.
Acting Senior Sergeant Anthony Bond, of Dunedin, said police were called to a single-car crash at the intersection of Maclaggan and Sutherland Sts about 7.15am this morning.
The 32-year-old male driver of the car had reversed into a wall and then run off, Snr Sgt Bond said.
"Police made enquiries at his home address which was nearby and spoke to him.
"He was visibility intoxicated so police initiated breath testing procedures, which he refused so has been arrested."
The man will appear in court this morning charged with refusing to accompany an officer and driving while disqualified this morning.
He was also breaching bail.
